An 1893 article compared the fashionable "Marcel wave" to anarchist bombs detonating across Paris at the time. I believe he went on to the first electric curling iron too. I look at this picture and think, is that a flamboyant hairdresser of the 19th century? Is that a model? How strange will we look to people a hundred years from now?
