Happy New Year! If you somehow could get your hands on a powdered wig for tonight I would applaud you. Powdered wigs and opulence I say. The next best thing would be styling powder, my new favorite thing. Yeah sure, lots girls use it, but on longer hair for a guy it works wonders in the same way--a matte finish with dry workable hold that can sometimes defy gravity. It works a bit unpredictably for me which I like.
I've tried the Got2b ($5.49) and it's good for the price. The more expensive version Osis ($20) is pictured below by the same company Schwarzkopf. Same company, different results. The Osis is finer textured and really holds! I've heard rumors that Sally's brand Beyond the zone has a great powder for under $10.
Have a great and healthy New Year--the higher the hair, the closer to God!

Pomade for change.

Ok, it's a little late for change but you have to admire The Murray's Superior hair dressing company for their limited edition can. Those not familiar with this company should note it was started in the 1920's by C.D. Murray in Chicago. The main pomade pictured is incredible. There is nothing really like it. There's a lot of Petroleum jelly in it so it takes skill and or balls to wear it well. The bee's wax based version is my go to product when I want instant satisfaction and a sweet F.A. style in the morning. The harder to find black tinted version is a God send. You can still buy this stuff for $3 on-line from the company too.
God Bless Murray's.

30's Depression chic

Quite excited I am to unveil this new cut. Done on my friend Ricky Twist, a man with shoulder length rock n roll hair who needed a change. My first asymmetrical cut, this one almost gave me a heart attack part way through. It's an unusual under-cut with graduation on the sides and back, while the top hangs long and angular over the short right side. A hurricane whorl on the back-adds the mysticism and the magic. Yes, I actually think that way.
